October box

I haven't posted in awhile, but I worked on something more decorative and
I wanted to share it with you. I am making this for a very special lady.
The first photo shows the beginning of this project.
I bought an unfinished round wooden box at the local arts and craft store.
I painted it a solid color, then lightly sanded it.
I worked out the design in my sketch book and
then drew my design on the box with pencil.
I used marker to crisp up the lines.
Then I started to paint, keeping the palette simple and colorful.
The last picture shows the finished box. I think she will like it.
It is her birthday soon and last year her home was severely burned.
Her bedroom was on the first floor and that is where the fire did its most damage. Her home is finished now. It has the new house smell. It is fresh and beautiful.
Since Her bedroom was destroyed including her jewelry boxes,
I  wanted to paint a special box for her to store her most precious items in.
I think she will like it.
Thanks for looking, now go out and
create something wonderful for yourself or someone else!
