Painting- week 32

Nest: a snug retreat or refuge; resting place; home.
This is my latest painting. I am going to do a series of these. They will sell for $45.00. The size of the canvas is 6" x 6". The painting carries over to the 1 1/2" outside edges.
I am hoping to put these in the local "art" shops in town.
My idea for these paintings came about when in one of the barberry bushes in front of my house we discovered a birds nest with small eggs inside. I loved the way the "mommy" bird had nestled her small home between the branches. A week or so went by and before we knew it the birds had hatched and were gone, isn't that the way, time just seems to fly. I wanted to do a series of these with one or more eggs in the nest to represent the people you may have in your home.
I am taking custom orders, even if you are a empty nester there is a painting for you.
So, how many do you have in your Nest?

Art Show set-up

What a great space for Art. The table that is shown will be moved out and that will give us lots of space to move around. I finished up my waterfall painting just in time for the show. I love how everything looks hanging on the walls. Special thanks to my husband Greg for helping me and just being there along the way. Thanks again to Lynda Bostrom for letting me show my work at the Blue Nile and for her amazing picture hanging skills. I will post pictures Saturday of the Artist reception. A blank canvas or empty plain paper is my nemesis and I think I conquered it....this time.  (:    I hope you enjoy looking at my work and once again thanks so much for stopping by!

June Art Show at the Blue Nile

I am so excited to say that my art will be hanging in the Blue Nile Restaurant for the month of June. They have a wonderful space to display Art. The Blue Nile is located in Harrisonburg, Virginia. My Artist Reception is June 1st, Friday from 6-9pm. Thanks to Lynda Bostrom for designing my poster. Lynda is in charge of the Gallery space and everything that entails and she does a wonderful job.

Drawing- week 31........SOLD

This is a drawing from a place in Augusta County, Virginia called Braley Pond. "Braley is a 4.5-acre impoundment constructed in 1965 by the U.S. Forest Service as a recreation pond." When fishing you could find rainbow trout which are stocked and largemouth bass, bluegill, and catfish. What I loved about this particular day was the clear blue water contrasting against the lime green and reds of the water lilies.

I hope you enjoy my drawing.

Have a great day and stop by again!

Drawing-week 30

This scene is from a local winery, Afton Mountain. Virginia not only has great tasting wines but our Vineyards have some of the most beautiful vistas. These places are great to go and relax and unwind after a hectic work week. Be sure to go with friends and just"Chill".

It is suppose to snow this evening here in the Valley, but it won't be long until the roses bloom again. Yea!

Thanks for looking and I hope you like my drawing!
