Drawing-week 8

I thought this would be a pretty picture to draw.
Up on the Blue Ridge Parkway there are beautiful shrubs that
bloom in spring. They are called Mountain Laurels.
This was at the Humpback Rock visitor center. Thanks for looking.
I hope you love my drawing!

My daughter requested this drawing, so here it is.
I hope you all like it.

Drawing-week 6............SOLD

This is Buffalo Lake in West Virginia in the Monongahela National Forest.
There are rough camping sites around the
22 acre lake.
The Lake is regularly stocked with trout.

Drawing-week 5

This scene is from Covington, Va. It is the Humpback Bridge.
There is a sign near it that reads "Humpback Bridge constructed of Hand Hewn Timbers in 1835 for the James River Kanawha Turnpike Corporation remained in public use until 1929."
The bridge was moved in 1953 to its present location.
I used more of a "line drawing" technique for this
in hopes of giving it an older feel.

Drawing-week 4

This scene is from the Humpback Rocks Mountain Farm.
At milepost 5.8 on the Blue Ridge Parkway there is a rest stop-visitor center. The buildings are from nearby structures that have been moved there so visitors can get a sense of what a 19th century working mountain farm would have looked like. Open during the summer months there are costumed rangers demonstrating crafts and skills necessary for daily farm living.
I hope you enjoy my drawing of it.
