This scene is from Covington, Va. It is the Humpback Bridge.
There is a sign near it that reads "Humpback Bridge constructed of Hand Hewn Timbers in 1835 for the James River Kanawha Turnpike Corporation remained in public use until 1929."
The bridge was moved in 1953 to its present location.
I used more of a "line drawing" technique for this
This scene is from the Humpback Rocks Mountain Farm.
At milepost 5.8 on the Blue Ridge Parkway there is a rest stop-visitor center. The buildings are from nearby structures that have been moved there so visitors can get a sense of what a 19th century working mountain farm would have looked like. Open during the summer months there are costumed rangers demonstrating crafts and skills necessary for daily farm living.
This scene is at the James Madison University's Arboretum. Located in Harrisonburg, Virginia, this is a really great place to go and relax. There are beautiful trees and plantings. Lots of benches to sit and take it all in.
This scene is the Middle River next to Bald Rock Road off of Rt. 11 in Augusta County Virginia. I love these beautiful birch trees. The bank along this river is really starting to erode. These lovely trees are in danger of falling over into the water.
